DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that ancient hieroglyphs were once called “the words of God”? In ancient times, the Egyptians used these symbols as an attempt to record words. Hieroglyphs are picture symbols that represent a combination of alphabetic and syllabic sounds. These symbols then convey specific meanings. Of course, the alphabet did not exist at that time yet and these hieroglyphs were a tool they used to write and tell their stories. For people who have already lived in modern ways, such a way of writing could come as a marvel. Those ancient ways are much different from the ways of this era - an era of handwriting note apps and whatnot.

It was during Napoleon’s invasion of Egypt in 1798 that these ancient writings were discovered. That signified the start of human inquiries to understand those ancient Egyptian symbols. Then in 1799, the Rosetta Stone (written in hieroglyphs and Greek) was discovered. This marked the start of understanding such writings, and the rest is history. Fast forward to the 21st century, deciphering handwriting is not a concern anymore. In fact, there are existing apps that can turn writing into text there are even apps where you can handwrite in Chinese. Thanks to the ancient hieroglyphs, people were inspired to innovate and create ways to recognize handwriting. People can now write to text in the easiest ways possible.
