Outlast 2
Other platforms
Outlast 2 is a first-person psychological, survival horror video game. It's the sequel to the acclaimed survival horror game Outlast. the game was developed and published by Red Barrels and distributed by Warner Bros.
Outlast 2 benefits from avoiding the tired mental asylum setting of the original and travelling the lesser worn road of the Sonoran Desert. This is an authentic horror experience and is not, by any means, for the faint of heart. Outlast contains some of the most terrifying moments I’ve experienced in a horror video game, ever. I play it loud and in the dark to heighten my experience but do not really recommend that if you are squeamish. Outlast 2, like any good sequel, builds on the experiences of the original. More

A very violent game but not for everyone. It's got mixed reviews and although not priced as a full game currently, isn't worth it to me at its current price. Perhaps waiting for a sale to purchase it is worthwhile. Overall, a decent game that has content being added to it slowly. Doesn't seem to have much value playing after the 6 hours of gametime. More

This game is much too violent and graphic. The violence it depicts no one needs to be seeing let alone, participating in on the screen.

This is definitely a violent game. Great for those looking to release a little steam.

GTA: San Andreas definitely fits the bill for a violent game, however I have one problem with this title. It is not a game on Steam. Though I believe this would be a great option for someone on the Android platform this isn't useful for me as I am looking for something that I can play on PC and this does not fit the bill. More

GTA:SA has been around for quite a while, but that doesn't mean it's lost its charm. Still a solid entry in the GTA series. I'll never get sick of it!

GTA is definitely a violent game. It has it's good and bad points. It's not exactly my favorite genre, but I've played it a few times before.
by Diane Hansen
Tends to defy physics making the violence excessive and unreal. It is okay overall.

Max Payne is not a good solution to violent games on Steam. It is as violent as the rest of them. I found myself shooting anything that moves as I ran around the streets of New York as Max. Though I may be playing as a “police officer†this game is still very violent and inappropriate for young children. More

I like max Payne for its great game play but i don't think it is too violent, it is just more action than other games and a bit of killing but less violent than other games. More

Max Payne is a violent game that is sold on steam if you really need one. If that is what you need it should scratch the itch.
by Phillip Phillips
Max Payne is a true classic not only is it a deep story telling game but it is a dramatic action game with plenty of violence to get some of that aggression out while you play~ More
Hotline Miami is an action game which blends top-down perspective with stealth, extreme violence, and surreal storytelling, along with a soundtrack and visuals influenced by 1980s culture.
by Jane Cunningham
I don't really think this helps any sort of problem. I think it actually brings more violence into the world and gives people ideas that they might not have had before. I do like that the whole thing is set in the 1980's which was a good era and Miami is a fun place for them to set this story in. More

I have so much fun playing this game. I love how it is influenced by the 80's as that is my favorite decade. I can create my own custom levels if I want and share them with others online. The game actually has a great story to it also besides just being a violent game. More

Hotline Miami 2 is looking to be every bit as good as the original! If you are looking to get some aggression out, this is a game that you will want to check out! More

Manhunt is a great game for being able to live out some of your secret fantasies that you keep locked away in the deep recesses of your mind. This stealth-action game is very well known for being incredibly, sometimes over-the-top brutal. More

Awesome game if you enjoy outsmarting the "things" chasing you down to take your life. At times I found myself nearly breathless from close calls and fear. More

I feel strongly and always have that violent games should either be banned or heavily restricted. Most I see online anyone can enter a fake birth date to gain access to the site. More

Carmageddon is a great violent driving game available on the steam store. You get to drive around on tracks and smash into different things including cows, penguins and other humans. There's many ways to play and hours of fun smashing into things. More

When I'm stressed, nothing is better than taking my aggression out on computer opponents in a violent way. I like the vehicle mode also.

Carmageddon is a great game and it is very violent. I played it many times and it is really fun but in my opinion, it is not the best. I would rather play a GTA or Mafia. More

If you like taking your day's frustration out on hapless video game characters, then this is the game for you. I find it therapeutic. Bad day at work? Hatred to the rescue. Girlfriend nagging on you? Hatred is right there. More

It's you against the world in this violent shooter game. The action is intense and fits the mood of this dark and gritty game.

Fun and entertaining game that is very easy to play. Great graphics and game design! Hours of enjoyment with this one!
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is an indie action game developed by Dennaton Games. It is the direct follow-up to the first game with the same name, which is set against a backdrop of escalating violence and retribution.

While not the most violent game on the platform, if you're looking for baseless violence without even a story, I can't recommend HM2 any more than I already do. Full of blood and gore and guns, it's a fun way to spend an afternoon without actually getting blood on your clothes! More

I wanted a really violent game I could play on my PC. Technically, this one on Steam fits in that category, but it is just way too old-school and low-graphic to qualify as a violent game to me. It's not realistic enough, and it doesn't give the proper effect. More

If you are in the market for a violent, hack and slash style game, this is it. It is full of things to do, achievements to get and loot to, well, loot. More

If you are worried about violent games on Steam, well this game is not the solution. The first game was a bloody gory action filled gorefest. And this version delivers the pain. More
The Evil Within 2 is a horror action-adventure and RPG game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks in 2017. It is the sequel of The Evil Within which was released one year before this game.

This is one messed up, bloody game - totally cool! I swear this game gave me nightmares after playing it for six hours straight. Play control is very tight and taut; you get used to it pretty quick and you'll have to once you advance in the game. Graphics are also spectacular, but could use a bit more change in backgrounds as it's a very dark game not only in content but color. Worth a shot to add to your collection! More
>Observer_ is a cyberpunk psychological horror game for Windows, Mac, and Linux computers, and for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming consoles. It was developed by Bloober Team and was published by Aspyr Media in 2017.

>observer_ is quite possibly the best video game of its kind. It takes place in a future, where criminals rule the world. Your mission is to take on the role of law enforcement and hack them into extinction. This is a must play for any gamer.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a first-person survival horror game produced by Capcom Co., Ltd. In the game, players assume the role of Ethan Winters, a young man who receives an email from a woman claiming to be Ethan's wife Mia.
by Joe Kennedy
I like the Resident Evil movies and the games series but I would not call the 7 the best violent game on Steam. The game has a very nice nice graphics since it is just released on Jan 2017 but the game lack of a good story. There are even better games in the Resident Evil games series than this one. More

This game is one of the causes of Steam having a violent game problem. This game features intense scenes of violence and gore, which include characters being dismembered, impaled, and killed in a variety of brutal ways. Beware!!! More

This is a wildly popular game on many platforms, however I would have to argue that there are more violent things you can play. Darksiders2 is said to have nice violent executions. The darkness 2 is also said to be extremely violent and gory. More

Having to submit your age before being able to enter is a great idea. It cuts down on people who shoukdn't be playing the game to begin with.
